Welcome to the City of Von Ormy's website. Von Ormy is one of the newest cities in Texas, and is a growing, vibrant city located in the heart of South Texas. Von Ormy was established in Colonial times as a stop along the Camino Real and was known then as Paso de las Garzas. We are named for Prussian Count Norbert Von Ormay who moved his court to our community in the 1880's. Today, Von Ormy is seeing a period of rapid growth. Come visit us!
The City of Von Ormy has placed a moratorium on all new construction including billboards and signs, pending the completion of the city's zoning plan.
City Council Meetings
The City of Von Ormy City Council meets at the Parish Hall of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 13466 IH 35 S, Von Ormy, Texas on the 1st and 3rd Wendsdays of each month at 7:00PM. This facility is wheelchair accessible and accessible parking spaces are available. Requests for accommodations or interpretive services must be made 48 hours prior to this meeting.
